Universal Pictures has released the final trailer for Disclosure Day, offering the clearest look yet at Steven Spielberg’s upcoming sci-fi blockbuster ahead of its June 12, 2026 theatrical release. The trailer expands on the film’s central mystery involving a decades-long government cover-up surrounding extraterrestrial life. Earlier teasers had only hinted at the conspiracy, while the latest footage reveals more about Josh O’Connor’s character Daniel Kellner, who steals classified information about alien existence and attempts to expose it publicly. The government agency protecting the secret appears willing to silence him at any cost.Emily Blunt stars as a Kansas City TV meteorologist who experiences strange encounters linked to the extraterrestrials. The trailer also suggests that her character and Daniel share a childhood connection involving possible alien experimentation. One sequence again shows Blunt’s character suddenly speaking in an alien language during a live weather broadcast.Intercut with scenes from the film, Spielberg speaks directly about his belief in intelligent life beyond Earth. Referencing his earlier works such as Close Encounters of the Third Kind, E.T., and War of the Worlds, the filmmaker says he now believes more strongly in extraterrestrial civilisations than he did decades ago.“This is a story about us, all of us, up against the most extraordinary event in human history,” Spielberg says in the trailer. “How will disclosure change us? I believe for the better.”The footage also offers the first proper glimpse of the aliens themselves, portrayed as classic “Grey” figures with large black eyes. The film appears heavily inspired by Roswell conspiracy theories and decades of UFO mythology popularised through titles like The X-Files, Independence Day, and Roswell.Written by longtime Spielberg collaborator David Koepp, whose credits include Jurassic Park and Spider-Man, the film also stars Colin Firth, Colman Domingo, Eve Hewson, Wyatt Russell, and Elizabeth Marvel.
