Donkey Kong 64/Switch Online
Nintendo has officially announced Donkey Kong 64 for the Nintendo 64 Switch Online library. DK, Diddy, Lanky, Tiny, Chunky, and the DK Rap will arrive on Nintendo Classics in one week’s time in glorious 64 bit.
Donkey Kong 64 swings onto Switch Online next month
Just after the reveal of the new cinematic take on Star Fox 64 for Switch 2, and just before its release on June 25, Nintendo has now taken to official channels to reveal the upcoming release of Donkey Kong 64. It lands on June 4 in the Nintendo 64 – Nintendo Classics library for Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack members.
The first in the DK series to feature 3D action, it originally debuted in 1999 on Nintendo 64. The platformer features a series of themed stages (and the DK Rap of course) as DK, Diddy Kong, Tiny Kong, Lanky Kong, and Chunky Kong (five playable Kong characters) set out on an adventure to collect golden bananas, save kidnapped family members from the grips of King K. Rool, and battle it out in four-player split-screen battle arenas. “Climb, swim, and jump with each of the five Kong members through treacherous and puzzling areas while taking advantage of their special abilities and upgrades…Hunt for collectibles and play wacky minigames while solo, or duke it out in battle arenas with friends in a four-player split-screen view. There’s enough fun to go around to make you go bananas!”
