The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, on Wednesday, reacted to growing claims by different politicians in Oyo State allegedly linking their 2027 governorship ambitions to his endorsement, saying the electorate will determine their success.
Speaking with journalists at his Ondo Street private residence in Bodija, Ibadan, on Wednesday, Ladoja said, “Politicians are free to associate themselves with me or claim my support.
“As a father figure to many political actors in the state, I cannot stop anyone from using his name politically.”
He, therefore, maintained that no endorsement alone could determine electoral victory, saying that personal records, political strength, acceptability, and campaign strategies of aspirants would ultimately decide who emerges successful in the 2027 governorship race.
