TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Barcelona has reportedly reached an agreement with Newcastle United to sign English winger Anthony Gordon during this summer's transfer window.According to a report from The Athletic on Thursday, Gordon is scheduled to undergo a medical in Catalonia on Friday local time before completing his move to Camp Nou.The report also revealed that Newcastle accepted Barcelona's initial offer of 80 million euros (approximately Rp1.5 trillion) plus bonuses for the 25-year-old. Gordon is also said to have agreed to personal terms with the reigning La Liga champions.Barcelona had initially been one of Gordon's main suitors, along with Bayern Munich and Chelsea. However, the Catalan club's efforts intensified after sporting director Deco held talks with Gordon's representatives during a recent trip to England.Gordon himself was signed from Everton in January 2023 for an initial fee of 40 million pounds sterling, while the Magpies have now released him for almost double that amount.During his time at Newcastle, Gordon made 152 appearances and scored 39 goals. His consistent performances earned him a call-up to the England national team for the 2026 World Cup.Gordon's transfer to Barcelona is also considered to have an impact on the club's winger plans. The Englishman's arrival could potentially lead to Barcelona canceling their €30 million purchase option on Marcus Rashford, potentially making the Manchester United winger return to Old Trafford this summer.Read: La Liga: Barcelona Beat Real Betis 3-1 in Final Home MatchClick here to get the latest news updates from Tempo on Google News
