A former aspirant for the Delta South Senatorial District ticket of the All Progressives Congress, Itiako Ikpokpo, has called on party leaders and supporters to intensify grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections following the conclusion of the party primaries.

Ikpokpo, a former chairman of Isoko South Local Government Area and former chairman of the Delta State chapter of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria, spoke during the APC governorship primaries on the same day he received the party’s Delta South senatorial candidate, Joel Onowakpo-Thomas, at his country home in Uro.

“We are prepared. We need the Presidency as much as we need the governorship.

“That is why we are telling our people to remain focused and committed.

“We should continue to talk to our people. This is not the time for bickering. We should continue to rally our people in the communities,” Ikpokpo said.
