SAN FRANCISCO, AGUSAN DEL SUR, Philippines — The Northern Davao Electric Cooperative Inc. (Nordeco) has elevated to the Supreme Court its challenge against court orders allowing Davao Light and Power Co. Inc. to take possession and operate power distribution assets in Tagum City and nearby towns in Davao del Norte.
In a press statement dated May 26, Nordeco said it had filed a Petition for Review on Certiorari with a prayer for a writ of preliminary injunction, temporary restraining order, and/or status quo ante order before the High Court.
The petition assails the validity and legality of the Supplemental Order of Expropriation and Supplemental Writ of Possession, both dated May 15, issued by the Regional Trial Court Branch 2 in Tagum City.
