It’s almost time to officially enter Ariana Grande’s Petal era.

On Wednesday (May 27), the pop sensation shared an eerie new teaser for the official music video for her forthcoming new single, “Hate That I Made You Love Me.” The clip opens with Weapons actor Justin Long driving a car and peering into the rearview mirror. As the trap-adjacent beat builds, Long adjusts the mirror to reveal Grande’s piercing brown eyes staring back at his frightened face.

The snippet closes with the title of the Grande’s single splashed across the screen in a yellow font reminiscent of various posters of 1986’s The Hitcher, which was remade in 2007. Grande also tagged her frequent collaborator, Christian Breslauer, who helmed her MTV Video Music Award-winning Bright Days Ahead short film in 2025.
