The incident on Monday afternoon resulted in the death of Amy Coon, 45, of Strasburg, Missouri, and left a 16-year-old Price Chopper employee injured and in stable condition, marking the town's first homicide in nearly two decades. Prince is currently in critical but stable condition in the intensive care unit after turning the gun on himself, and police have been unable to interview him due to his sedated state. Authorities have not established a motive for the shooting, which appears to be random, and found no initial connection between Prince and the victims. Two armed citizens intervened shortly after the gunfire began, a move that Pleasant Hill Police Chief Tommy Wright stated may have prevented further bloodshed.
