May 27 (UPI) -- President Donald Trump appointed former Attorney General Pam Bondi to his artificial intelligence advisory committee, administration officials confirmed Wednesday, the same day she revealed she was diagnosed with cancer.
Vice President JD Vance issued a statement saying Bondi will serve on the Presidential Council of Advisors on Science and Technology. She will specifically focus on national infrastructure and will be in charge of coordinating between government officials and tech executives on the council, Axios reported.
"Pam has been an enormously valuable asset to the president's team, and I'm thrilled for her and for all of us that she's going to remain involved in confronting some of the most important issues the administration faces," Vance said.
The co-chairmen of the council are former White House AI adviser David Sacks and White House science adviser Michael Kratsios. Tech executives on the panel include Nvidia co-founder Jensen Huang, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, Dell CEO Michael Dell, Google co-founder Sergey Brin and Oracle co-founder Larry Ellison.
