The Plateau State Police Command has arrested two suspected members of the Sara-Suka cult and recovered dangerous weapons and substances believed to be illegal drugs during separate operations in Jos.
Confirming the development in a statement on Wednesday signed by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Alfred Alabo, the arrests were made as part of efforts by the Commissioner of Police, CP Bassey Ewah, to curb criminal activities and drug abuse in the state.
“As part of efforts put in place by the Commissioner of Police Plateau State Command, CP Bassey Ewah, psc(++), FCAI, MSPSP, to curb criminal activities and the intake of illegal substances across the State, the Command has recorded another breakthrough in the fight against crime and criminality.
“Police detectives attached to the Command’s Anti-Cyber Crime and Narcotics Unit arrested 18-year-old Adam Abdullahi of Yen Siminti, Rikkos, Jos.
“The suspect was apprehended at Gengere while in possession of a double-edged knife, cult-related attire and substances suspected to be Crystal Methamphetamine aka ‘ice,” the statement said.
