So, consider this your one and only warning.Here are today’s NYT Connections answers explained (and any red herrings I spot) for Thursday, May 28:Today’s NYT Connections Answers ExplainedConnections – Yellow GroupMORE FOR YOU🟨 get low (DUCK, HUNCH, SQUAT, STOOP) These refer to bending your back or your knees to get lower to get the ground. Side note: please lift with your legs, not your back!Connections – Green Group🟩 fourth estate (MEDIA, NEWS, PAPERS, PRESS)These all refer to what’s known as the fourth estate. Journalism, in other words. It missions is, ostensibly, to hold those in power to account. Per Wikipedia, the term “fourth estate” comes “from the traditional European concept of the three estates of the realm: the clergy, the nobility and the commoners.”Connections – Blue Group🟦 parts of a courtroom (BAR, BENCH, PODIUM, STAND)The BAR is a dividing line in the courtroom between those observing legal proceedings and the active participants (the judge, lawyers, defendant, jury etc).The BENCH is the elevated platform where the judge sits. The PODIUM is often where lawyers are positioned while presenting an argument or questioning witnesses.
