CLEAR members can now add their digital CLEAR ID to their Samsung phone's wallet.This partnership aims to make identity verification at airports easier for Samsung users.The Transportation Security Administration accepts digital IDs at over 250 airports.CLEAR members can now add their CLEAR ID to the wallet on their Samsung phones, giving users another way to have their identities verified at airports."We're thrilled to partner with CLEAR to bring CLEAR ID to Samsung Wallet, making airport travel and other identity verification experiences easier and frictionless for our users," Woncheol Chai, EVP and Head of Digital Wallet Team, Mobile eXperience (MX) Business at Samsung Electronics, said in a statement. "By enabling (our users) to leave their physical IDs in their bag and rely on secure digital identity instead, we're combining the best of convenience and security to help users get where they're going."CLEAR ID is an accepted form of identification at Transportation Security Administration checkpoints. According to the TSA, digital IDs can be used at more than 250 airports.All CLEAR members can obtain a CLEAR ID digital ID, and the company's website outlines the steps to receive one.CLEAR IDs were already able to be uploaded into Apple Wallets."Now with CLEAR's secure identity platform embedded in Samsung Wallet, verifying your identity is easier than ever. Samsung ID with CLEAR gives you a simple, secure ID in the palm of your hand," CLEAR CEO Caryn Seidman Becker said in a statement.Many states also offer digital IDs or driver's licenses that can be used at TSA checkpoints.What is CLEAR?Travelers can skip the security line (the one where an airport agent checks their ID and boarding pass) and be personally escorted to an expedited security line where their identification is verified.While a CLEAR ID is free, an individual membership to CLEAR+ (which includes the escort) starts at $209 per year.
