Tetracore Energy has commenced commercial operations at Phase I of its 100MW Atakobo Independent Power Generation & Distribution System, bringing fresh generation capacity to Nigeria’s strained industrial grid.
The milestone shifts the project from development into active generation and supply under existing commercial contracts.
In a statement, the company confirmed it has executed Power Purchase Agreements with industrial offtakers and begun delivery of electricity from the plant.
According to the company, the move advances Tetracore’s strategy to build integrated gas-to-power infrastructure aimed at improving energy reliability for manufacturers grappling with high diesel costs and grid instability.
“Designed as a scalable asset within Tetracore’s broader energy platform, the Atakobo IPP targets industrial and commercial clusters seeking dedicated, reliable power,” the statement said.
