This spring, Carnegie Mellon University’s College of Engineering awarded professorships to four esteemed faculty members. They will be honored at a formal ceremony in fall 2026. Congratulations to the four recipients, listed below.
Sarah Bergbreiter
Dan and Karen Swanson Endowed Professor
Bergbreiter is a professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering. Her research focuses on the challenges of engineering robotic systems down to sub-millimeter size scales. She works on small mobile robots and microfabrication in support of larger robotic systems. Bergbreiter is the inaugural recipient of the Dan and Karen Swanson Endowed Professorship.
