The teenager fell three figures short by one blow, narrowly missing Chris Gayle’s 30-ball IPL century record from 2013.
His 12 maximums contributed to a season tally of 65 sixes, surpassing Gayle’s previous IPL record of 59 from 2012.
The left-hander is the season’s leading run-scorer with 680 at a 240 strike rate, including one century and four fifties.
