Ali Bagheri Kani, the political deputy of the Supreme National Security Council of the Islamic Republic, met with Qasim al-Araji, Iraq’s National Security Advisor, and urged Baghdad to take “decisive” action to prevent Iraqi territory from being used as a “source of threat” against Iran.

According to Iranian state media, the meeting took place on the sidelines of the 14th Moscow International Security Conference.

During the talks, Bagheri said that “the root of these threats must be dried up [completely eradicated]” and added that the Islamic Republic is ready to cooperate with Iraq in this regard.
