Former BJP Minister and MLA for Karkala V. Sunil Kumar said on Wednesday that hatred towards OBC leaders is in the DNA of the Gandhi family which does not tolerate them.Reacting to reports of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi asking Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to resign from the post, Mr. Kumar said in a statement that the late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi could not tolerate the popularity of then Karnataka Chief Minister Devaraj Urs. She brought down Urs unceremoniously from the post. After Urs, now it is Mr. Siddaramaiah who has risen in stature as a popular OBC leader in the State and across the country. Now, Mr. Rahul Gandhi has asked Mr. Siddaramaiah to step down from the post, he said.On the one hand, Mr. Rahul Gandhi admits to delay in hearing the voice of OBC community and mentions in his political speeches about his intention to uplift the community by doing caste census. On the other hand, he is bringing down a tall OBC leader from a seat of power, he said.Mr. Rahul Gandhi should answer why the only Chief Minister belonging to OBC in a Congress ruled State is being brought down from the post, Mr. Kumar said.
