Coronation Street fans think they know exactly what newcomer Idris Nazir is up to, and what he might have in store for Brody and other Weatherfield residents on the ITV soap15:05, 27 May 2026Fans of Coronation Street think they've figured out what Idris Nazir has got planned for Weatherfield.‌The new character debuted this week as the cousin of existing resident Alya Nazir. But he sparked suspicion with some characters about his behaviour.‌Fans were also predicting trouble ahead, after his scenes with some other newcomers. We saw him threatening a man named Damo, while he also kicked two businessmen out of Speed Daal after they got drunk and ruined temp waiter Brody Michaelis' trainers.‌The men refused to leave until Idris showed up and forced them to pay the staff, and give Brody cash for his trainers. It's then that he told Brody he liked the area, and suggested he had big plans for the place.‌With talks of him working in property and purchasing a local agency, Brody was keen to land a job. But fans think Idris will lad Brody into trouble, while they also shared their thoughts on what he might actually be up to.Other viewers also theorised his property business could see him attempt to take over the street, similar to a previous storyline. One theory read: "He's going to lead Brody astray."Another fan said: "I think less bully, more 'likeable villain' is what they're going with just because of the Alya link and the Leanne romance hints, feels like it's someone they want to stick around as opposed to an non-redeemable baddie? I do think he's up to no good though, and that he's going to get Brody in trouble as it deffo seems he's hiding something with Damo but also I'm suspicious about the guys in the restaurant."‌A third fan commented: "I feel like Idris paid those two guys to cause trouble in the restaurant so he could then roll in like a boss." A fourth fan added: "I think the same."It's a bit too suspicious that they were so quick to pay up leave when Idris warned them, when more than one character had already told them to go." On what he's hiding, a theory suggested: "He is a money lender or drug pusher."‌On the Brody concern, a fan said: "I hate that Idris is gonna exploit that and get Brody into trouble," while another added: "So Brody's going to be Idris henchman why not show Brody making a name for himself instead." Another said: "Also, I think Idris is gonna hire Brody because he seems him as an easy target to manipulate into whatever he wants, since Brody wants money."One fan even wondered if Idris was linked to a past character.
