The senator claimed that Iran “cannot have a nuclear weapon,” that the U.S. needs to “get rid” of Islamic Republic’s ability to “terrorize its neighbor” with ballistic missiles, and that the Strait of Hormuz must be opened. “Those are the conditions that have to be met for any deal to work,” he said. McCormick added that Iran has a choice between a “path to prosperity” or the U.S. will use “additional pressure with military force.”The Independent has contacted the White House and Senator McCormick for comment.
