SIWELELE goalkeeper Ricardo Goss' place in the final Bafana Bafana squad is in jeopardy with some tough competition coming from fellow shotstoppers in the league.
At 7pm on Wednesday night, Bafana Bafana head coach Hugo Broos will officially confirm his final 26-man squad for the prestigious trip to the Americas during a high-profile announcement at the Union Buildings in Pretoria.
The overarching question ahead of the deadline is exactly how much Broos will choose to reward raw domestic form versus established tactical continuity as he trims his preliminary group down.
In goal, Ricardo Goss has pushed incredibly strongly after enjoying an exceptional individual season with Siwelele — and he currently possesses the highest save percentage out of everyone within the goalkeeping department.
But despite his spectacular form, he is up against the firmly established order of Ronwen Williams and Sipho Chaine — both of whom have offered Broos immense consistency and trust over a sustained period — while Brandon Petersen has also starred in the colours of his club this season.
