May 27 (UPI) -- Travis Kelce bought a minority stake in MLB's Cleveland Guardians, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end announced Wednesday on the New Heights podcast.

The Westlake, Ohio native played baseball, basketball and football at Cleveland Heights High School before attending the University of Cincinnati.

"This is some of the coolest stuff I've ever been a part of," Kelce said on the podcast, which he co-hosts with his brother, Jason.

Kelce spoke about "countless memories of the 90s and 2000s" while watching his hometown baseball team. He thanked Guardians owners Paul Dolan and David Blitzer for the opportunity to join their ownership group.
