Next week’s Posidonia, the biennial shipping mega-event starting on June 1 at the Metropolitan Expo center, sees the return of the official presence of Germany and Italy.

That comes after a long absence, alongside that of strengthened representation of the US and 20 other national pavilions, Posidonia Exhibitions head Theodore Vokos tells Kathimerini.

Also, despite concerns to the contrary, all countries with maritime interests from the Persian Gulf will participate.

The number of parallel events is also a record, as over 70 conferences and seminars will be held, including an event on the perspective of using nuclear energy in shipping.
