Cresco Labs Marks Historic Step Forward with Medical Cannabis Facility DEA Registration
Cresco Labs Inc. (CSE: CL) (OTCQX: CRLBF) (FSE: 6CQ) (“Cresco Labs” or the “Company”), the industry leader in branded cannabis products with a portfolio of America’s most popular brands and the operator of Sunnyside dispensaries, today announced that it registered certain state-licensed medical cannabis facilities with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (“DEA”) following the federal rescheduling of medical cannabis to Schedule III under the Controlled Substances Act. The registrations are related to dispensary, cultivation and processing operations serving medical cannabis patients in the Company’s footprint.
“Registering our medical cannabis operations with the DEA marks a significant milestone for Cresco Labs and for the continued evolution of the cannabis industry,” said Charlie Bachtell, CEO of Cresco Labs. “For the first time, the work we do is federally recognized—advancing normalization, reducing uncertainty, and reinforcing safe, responsible access to medicine for patients across the country.”
The expedited 60-day DEA registration pathway was established following the federal government’s rescheduling of medical marijuana to Schedule III, which created a mechanism for eligible state-licensed medical cannabis operators to register certain activities with the DEA.
