Their home, Pickle Cottage, is a lively place, Stacey Solomon says, but she does her best to keep it organised – even though her husband Joe Swash thrives on chaos10:38, 27 May 2026With a blended family comprising six kids ranging in age from seven to 18, it's not easy for celebrity parents Joe Swash and Stacey Solomon to keep their home tidy and organised.Stacey, who has turned her gift for decluttering into a hit BBC One TV show – Sort Your Life Out – says she's probably the most organised member of the family. Although, she says her 13-year-old son Leighton, from a previous relationship, "is fighting me for that trophy."At the other end of the scale, though, comes Stacey's oldest son, Zachary, who rivals Joe as the messiest member of the family: "Between an 18-year-old teenager and a 45-year-old man with ADHD, it's not easy," Stacey told Sort Your Life Out colleague Dilly Carter. She continued to explain: "And Joe is really funny – he's the opposite to me."He actually needs a bit of chaos. I like things organised. And just because that helps me to navigate through my life, that doesn't mean that is the right way to live."Before shutting down rumours that the pair are "on the brink of divorce" on the same podcast, she admitted: "Joe's brain works totally differently to mine. And so sometimes, he does need things to be a little bit chaotic."Stacey says that keeping their Essex mansion, Pickle Cottage, looking spick and span is important to her because she never imagined she could own a place like it: "He's from Islington, I'm from Dagenham, " she explained. "I know they say you grow up and you dream of these kind of things, but Pickle Cottage wasn't a dream for us growing up, because I didn't even know houses like that existed."So when we got Pickle Cottage, I just think we were just like, oh my god, we live in a house like this. Like, when did this happen and how did this happen? And I think I'm proud of every bit of my house."Stacey is, though, a self-confessed hoarder. She even has a collection of her children's baby-teeth preserved in a box: "I had so many kids, I was like, 'I can't just have like five teeth boxes, can I? I'm going to have to make one big teeth box'."Sticking to tradition, Stacey leaves a coin under her children's pillows whenever they lose a tooth: "A pound for a small one, two pounds for a big one." However, she admits that sometimes if she doesn't have the right change, she'll use a Euro instead. She added that her bizarre collection of teeth is interacted with a lot more use than you might expect: "My kids love going through their memory boxes. And teeth is one of the favourite things to look through."Article continues belowThe box of teeth is not the strangest item stored in Pickle Cottage. That title must surely go to the photo that shows Joe and Stacey paddle-boarding on holiday in Australia. In homage to a viral snap of a nude Orlando Bloom alongside his then-partner Katy Perry that was doing the rounds at the time, Joe is completely naked: "I was like, Joe, we should take that photo," Stacey recalled. "So we did and we did our own reenactment. And then a fan blew it up and put a pickle in front of Joe's [genitals]."Stacey, who christened the family home Pickle Cottage in homage to the affectionate nickname she uses for her children, said: "It was so lovely and thoughtful of this fan that I thought, I can't throw it away. So I've just kept it for 10 years."
