Center for Urban Mobility has officially launched Sofia2Go, a new mobile application designed to digitize public transport services in the Bulgarian capital.

The app Sofia2Go, now available on both Google Play and App Store, allows passengers to transfer their physical transport cards directly into Apple Wallet and Google Wallet.

The new platform aims to simplify access to Sofia’s public transport system while reducing queues at ticket offices. Through the app, users can view and recharge their transport cards remotely, track travel history, receive expiration reminders, and create fully virtual anonymous travel cards.

A major milestone of the project is Sofia’s direct integration into the public transport categories of Apple Wallet and Google Wallet, making Sofia the first city in Bulgaria to offer such functionality. Passengers can now purchase non-personalized travel passes — ranging from 24-hour tickets to annual subscriptions — directly through their phone wallets without needing to open the Sofia2Go app itself.

However, users creating a completely new digital transport card will be charged a one-time fee of €1.50.
