Legendary actor Sello Maake KaNcube has formally rejected his controversial honorary doctorate, demanding a public apology after years of ridicule.
Legendary South African actor Sello Maake KaNcube is officially cutting ties with the controversial honorary doctorate that has caused him years of grief.
In a statement from the Sello Maake KaNcube Foundation, the cultural icon announced that he has formally rejected, renounced, and dissociated himself from the degree awarded by the unaccredited Trinity International Bible University (also known as Trinity International University of Ambassadors).
This drama kicked off about two years ago when Higher Education Minister Blade Nzimande slammed the unregistered institution for handing out degrees to Mzansi celebs.
At the time, Nzimande bluntly stated the awards were not worth the paper they were written on.
