Ahmedabad-based Shah Metacorp Ltd on Tuesday said it has signed an agreement with Strike Eco Grid to provide up to Rs 25 crore funding for renewable energy projects.The company said it has completed the acquisition of a 26 per cent stake in Strike Eco Grid and has entered into a strategic MoU with the latter for joint development of renewable energy and infrastructure projects, funding support and business expansion, a company statement said."Shah Metacorp plans to provide funding support of up to Rs 25 crore for solar EPC, captive and open access power projects and renewable infrastructure businesses," the statement said.The company may further increase its stake in Strike Eco up to 75 per cent in phases, based on business performance, project execution and mutual approvals, it added.Viral Shah, Chief Executive Officer, Shah Metcorp Limited, said, "Through this proposed association with Strike Eco, we are looking to build a long-term presence in the renewable energy and sustainable infrastructure sector".In April this year, the company acquired a 26 per cent stake in Strike Eco Grid, marking its entry into renewable energy initiatives.Shah Metacorp is a manufacturer, exporter and supplier of stainless steel and mild steel long products. It reported revenue of around Rs 149 crore in the December quarter. PTI
