The war of words between YSRCP Kadapa MP Y.S. Avinash Reddy and Pulivendula former MLC B.Tech Ravi (TDP) reached enormous proportions on Tuesday with the former accusing the latter of trying to sell off his MLC seat and join the YSR Congress party. The allegation was made at a meeting of party leaders and activists, where Mr. Avinash Reddy said B.Tech Ravi had visited former Rajya Sabha member V. Vijayasai Reddy at New Delhi and made the offer to sell away his MLC seat for Rs.12 crore. The MP even charged the TDP leader of expressing willingness to join the BJP if the YSRCP appeared reluctant.Brushing aside the allegations as ‘baseless’ at a press meet held at Pulivendula later, B. Tech Ravi said the YSRCP could never buy him out, as he had suffered a lot at the hands of the YSR family in Pulivendula in the past.“YSRCP was actually offering Rs.15 cr to the TDP MLCs to stall the Amaravati bill. I informed our party President and we were studying it further to examine who else was involved. They are now twisting the facts “, he explained. He saw a ploy to project him in poor light to the party high command, in view of his relentless attempts to expose the YSR family’s ‘evil deeds of the past’.Instead of making such baseless allegations, Avinash Reddy should call for an open debate on Pulivendula politics, especially the YS Vivekananda Reddy murder case”, he advised.
