The Senator Representing Abia Central Senatorial district, Senator Austin Akobundu, says he has commenced the second phase of ‘Light-Up the Communities’ project aimed at improving the quality of life of the people across senatorial district.
Akobundu stated this while briefing journalists as part of his achievements at his liaison office in Umuahia, the state capital.
He said, “The project will cover another set of 11 markets across the senatorial district. This project will not only add to the aesthetics of the markets and communities, but will enhance the security and substantially boost commence and business activities across the designated areas. “We have attracted several life changing projects through youths and women empowerment programmes, sponsored many bills and supported several motions before the floor of Senate which has direct impact on the overall well-being of the people.”
Akobundu added that recently he organised a free medical outreach that covered three local government areas of Ikwuano, Osisioma Ngwa and Umuahia North, with the second phase earmarked to cover the remaining three local government areas of Isiala Ngwa North, Isiala Ngwa South and Umuahia South.
