A liquor store has escaped further punishment after a manager admitted selling alcohol to an underage customer because she felt ‘bad’.

Police applied to the Alcohol Regulatory and Licensing Authority (ARLA) for the suspension of the off-licence held by Graduate Pyes Pa Ltd, which trades as ‘Bottle-O Pyes Pa’.

That application came after a controlled purchase operation involving police, the district licensing inspector, and a 17-year-old volunteer on August 9, 2025.

During that night, at around 9pm, the teen entered Bottle-O Pyes Pa where duty manager Stacey Proctor was working.

The teen walked to a fridge and selected a bottle of Soju, a 12% distilled Korean spirit, with a sticker price of $9.99.
