Leadway Assurance Plc has said that it paid N137 billion claims to its clients in the 2025 financial year. The figure showed 17 per cent rise from N117 billion claims it paid in 2024.
Leadway Managing Director, Gboyega Lesi, said the company in 2025 was committed to standing by policyholders through prompt and consistent claims settlement.
He said consequently, this brought about the 17 percent rise in its claims payment for the year.
Lesi said Leadway had formidable capacity to honour obligations across its life, annuity, and non-life portfolios, and its continued role as a dependable financial safety net for millions of customers navigating losses in these uncertain times.
Giving break down of the expenses on claims, Lesi said non-life portfolio accounted for N55.4 billion of total claims expenses, while annuity payouts reached N57.9 billion, and life business claims accounted for N23.7 billion.
