One person has been arrested after a fire truck was allegedly stolen from the West Auckland suburb of Piha on Wednesday morning.
Police were called shortly before 11.30am by Fire and Emergency NZ staff who reported one of their vehicles had been stolen.
The vehicle was able to be tracked heading east before police pulled it over on Hillsborough Rd, just off Mount Albert Rd, typically a 40 to 50 minute drive, shortly after 11.30am.

The driver was arrested, and charges are pending, police said.
