KPop Demon Hunters is coming home. The acclaimed animated film, which was a smash hit for Netflix, popped up for preorder on Blu-ray and DVD from the Criterion Collection. The release date is listed as Dec. 31, 2026, although Amazon regularly uses the first and last days of the year as placeholders, so it’s reasonable to expect the release may come sooner than that.

A Criterion release for KPop Demon Hunters was first confirmed in February, alongside Netflix’s Frankenstein. It’s an unexpected turn for Netflix, which has long prioritized streaming over the traditional theatrical and home-release schedule. Netflix titles rarely get physical releases, but there are exceptions; Alfonso Cuarón’s “Roma,” Martin Scorsese’s “The Irishman”, and Jane Campion’s “The Power of the Dog” are among the titles with physical releases from Criterion.
