Speaking during the visit, the SDP candidate said the worsening insecurity across the country reflected what he described as a failure of the federal government under President Tinubu.

The presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Adewole Adebayo, has accused President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of neglecting his constitutional duties as Commander-in-Chief, alleging that security resources are being diverted to destabilise opposition political parties.

Adebayo made the remarks on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, during a condolence visit to Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde following a recent attack on schools in Oriire Local Government Area.

Speaking during the visit, the SDP candidate said the worsening insecurity across the country reflected what he described as a failure of the federal government under President Tinubu.

“We came to sympathise with the communities and the Oyo State government and to apologise on behalf of the government of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu who has failed in his primary duty,” Adebayo said.
