Ahead of the highly anticipated release of “House of the Dragon” Season 3, showrunner and co-creator Ryan Condal is teasing an “all-out war” right from the get-go.
In Entertainment Weekly’s cover story, Condal called the premiere of Season 3, which features the Battle of the Gullet, “arguably the craziest episode of television ever made.”
Emma D’Arcy, who returns as Rhaenyra Targaryen, echoed Condal’s sentiment, saying: “The series this time around starts at 60 miles an hour. We’re finally watching a war that has been building for two seasons… I’m so impressed by Ryan and the team.”
Set around 200 years prior to the events of “Game of Thrones,” and continuing the story of George R.R. Martin’s 2018 book “Fire & Blood,” Season 3 picks up with Aemond Targaryen (Ewan Mitchell) sitting on the Iron Throne, and Rhaenyra adding new dragons to her army.
The Battle of the Gullet will follow Admiral Sharako Lohar’s (Abigail Thorn) Triarchy fleet attempting to free the Gullet from the Velaryon, as Rhaenyra’s son Jace (Harry Collett) flies his dragon against House Velaryon’s navy.
