The rising cost of living is pushing more New Zealanders to look beyond the big cities for work, with growing interest in regional jobs and hands-on industries.
New data from Trade Me Jobs shows overall job searches jumped 12 per cent month-on-month in April as workers looked for greater stability and lower living costs.

Trade Me Jobs general manager Greg Cassidy said the figures reflected a workforce adapting to ongoing financial pressure.
“What we have seen in our data is a pragmatic response to the current cost of living and changing job market,” Cassidy said.
