Noni Madueke avoided injury against Crystal Palace and is expected to be fit for Arsenal’s Champions League final against Paris Saint-Germain.The 24-year-old England international volleyed home the winner in Arsenal’s final match of the Premier League campaign — a 2-1 win at Selhurst Park — but did not complete the 90 minutes. He was substituted shortly before full-time, clutching at the back of his left thigh. That substitution was precautionary and related to cramp. Madueke did re-emerge to join Arsenal’s trophy lift and celebrations, and appeared to be moving comfortably. He is now expected to be part of the squad for Saturday’s final against PSG.
Madueke joined Arsenal from Chelsea last summer for a fee of £48.5million, and has won the Premier League title in his debut season in north London.“It’s an amazing feeling, one you can’t put into words,” he told Arsenal’s website on Sunday. “We had the feeling already after City the other day, but it’s a wave of new emotions when you lift the trophy.“I don’t think it’s dawned on me yet, but it will. It was amazing, so much relief, so much joy, all positive emotions, it’s something we’ve worked so hard for over a span of nine, ten months. To finally get that feeling of yes, we’ve completed it, was amazing. It was nice to score on the final day of the season, so great. I’ll put it in my scrapbook of memories.“I did imagine (the season could be this good), that’s why I came so quickly from where I was. So it’s going to be amazing, God willing we get that Champions League and then go off to the World Cup and try to get that one too.”After Saturday’s final in Budapest, Arsenal’s Premier League champions will return to London for a parade on Sunday May 31.Madueke and the rest of Arsenal’s England contingent are then due to be granted a few days off before joining up with Thomas Tuchel’s squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
