May 26 (UPI) -- Spanish midfielder Alexia Putellas will leave Barcelona after 14 years, the two-time Ballon d'Or Ferminin award winner announced Tuesday.
The 32-year-old will make her final appearance for the Spanish Liga F soccer club against Real Sociedad on Wednesday in Barcelona. Putellas, who made her Barcelona senior team debut in 2012 is the club's all-time leader in goals, with 233.
Putellas, who also spent time with Espanyol and Levante, is widely regarded as one of the best women's players of the 21st century.
"I have no words to describe what it has meant to live all this alongside my teammates," Putellas said in a video posted to her Instagram account. "To those who paved the way, and those of us who came later to write this eternal legacy together.
