New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart gushed over President Donald Trump at a campaign rally, prompting Giants linebacker Abdul Carter to seemingly lay a big social-media hit on his teammate Saturday before the apparent spin control started.The conflict began when Dart passed the microphone to Trump at a Suffern, New York, campaign event for Rep. Mike Lawler (R-N.Y.) on Friday.“What an honor, what a privilege it is to be here,” Dart said. “And without further ado, I’m grateful, I’m honored, I’m pleasured to introduce the 45th and 47th president of the United States of America, President Donald J. Trump.”Trump, who later rhapsodized over Dart’s “tree trunk” legs in an anti-trans rant, milked the applause as Lee Greenwood’s “God Bless the USA” played and exchanged a handshake and a hug along with a few words to Dart.Carter, who joined the Giants from the same 2025 draft as Dart, appeared miffed at Dart’s MAGA display.Carter’s response was interpreted by several outlets as a calling-out of his teammate’s politics ― or at least political maneuvering. “Teammate Slams Star NFL QB for Shameless Trump Suck-Up” blared the Daily Beast headline.A former kicker for the Giants, Lawrence Tynes, chimed in as well.“The locker room is a sacred place because it brings together everyone from all walks of life and beliefs for one common goal,” Tynes said, per the New York Post. “Calling a teammate out publicly for his political views and to get attention is nasty work.”Watch Trump and Dart’s exchange from the top:But Carter changed his tune later in the day.“Me and JD6 are good! The Giants are trying to remove the stench of last year’s 4-13 record (but which included a promising rookie season by Dart).
