'Europe’s competitiveness issues are not solved 'by throwing the EU’s green legislation out the window,' said a Green MEP
The European Commission should freeze new EU rules that add costs for businesses and withdraw several pending green and social policy files, Europe’s largest business lobby has demanded.
In a declaration adopted last week in Dublin, BusinessEurope called for an “immediate moratorium on new regulatory burden, including secondary legislation”.
The group also urged the Commission to withdraw “burdensome” pending proposals, including the Green Claims Directive and the Late Payment Regulation, both of which have been under negotiation for years.
