The XPENG GX definitely excited our own Larry Evans at Auto China 2026, and analysts obsessively tracking vehicle sales in China think it’s going to be a big hit.
Deutsche Bank analysts expect that orders for the XPENG GX will give XPENG enough of a boost that it will have around 50,000 sales in May. That’s a big boost for a company that was just above 31,000 in April!
According to the Deutsche Bank team, part of the early success of the GX has been aggressive pricing. For a limited time, you can order a GX for 269,800 yuan ($39,707), a ridiculous price for a vehicle of its size and capability. (The GX has a 100 kWh battery, a steer-by-wire chassis, hardware for L4 autonomous driving capability, supposedly, and tons of compute power.)
