May 26 (UPI) -- President Donald Trump is scheduled for a trip to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center on Tuesday for the third checkup of his second term, which the White House described as routine.

The visit was announced May 11 and will include "routine annual dental and medical assessments as part of his regular preventative healthcare," the White House said. He will also "spend time with service members and staff at Walter Reed in recognition of their service, professionalism and dedication to the nation."

He visited the hospital twice last year. In October, he went for "his routine yearly checkup," White House Spokesperson Karoline Leavitt said. But while there, he had an MRI. In April 2025, he also visited Walter Reed where he was given an annual physical. Navy Capt. Sean P. Barbabella, who supervised that visit, said the examination included laboratory testing and consultations with 14 specialists.

"As we revealed in the post-examination report, the advanced imaging was perfectly normal and revealed absolutely no abnormalities," Barbabella said in a statement in October.
