U.S. biotechnology firm Regeneron Pharmaceuticals Inc. plans to establish its global capability centre (GCC) in Hyderabad.It is a strategic investment decision to deepen global operations and scale business functions. The Regeneron GCC will be operational in the second half of 2026 and is expected to grow to hundreds of jobs in the coming years as it expands capabilities across key global functions, the global biotechnology leader said.The company has 15 approved or authorised medicines and nearly 50 pipeline candidates spanning multiple therapeutic areas and is supported by more than 15,000 employees across North America, Europe and Asia.“Hyderabad has established itself as a world-class hub for Life Sciences and technology talent and we are proud to expand our presence there. As we continue to scale our global operations, the Regeneron GCC represents an important investment in our future,” senior vice-president (Development Operations, Portfolio Management and Biostatistics Data Management) Bari Kowal said.IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu said Hyderabad is increasingly emerging as the preferred destination for leading global companies to establish their GCCs, owing to its world-class infrastructure and availability of a highly skilled talent pool.Hyderabad currently hosts nearly 450 GCCs and continues to attract more international investments. The rapid growth of GCCs in Hyderabad is expected to create significant employment opportunities for IT engineers and technology professionals.Regeneron’s decision, he said, would further enhance the State’s global reputation. The proposed centre will coordinate the company’s global operations and support high-end digital services such as clinical trial operations, advanced data science, artificial intelligence engineering and commercial analytics, the Minister said in a statement shared by his office.Mr.Sridhar Babu said Telangana government has been according top priority to research, manufacturing, industrial policy and infrastructure development.
