The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has summoned Chinese nationals linked to the Inner Galaxy Steel Company and the Jiuxing Integrity Industrial Ltd over alleged involvement in railway infrastructure theft and ordered the sealing of the companies’ facilities across the country.

The NSCDC said the action followed the uncovering of what it described as a “highly sophisticated syndicate” allegedly engaged in the vandalisation of critical national infrastructure.

In a statement issued on Monday by the corps’ National Public Relations Officer, Afolabi Babawale, the agency disclosed that it had secured a court order authorising the sealing of all branches of the affected companies nationwide.

According to the NSCDC, suspects linked to the syndicate are facing allegations bordering on conspiracy, theft, destruction of railway infrastructure, concealment of stolen property, and alleged financing of terrorism.

“Following the recent exposure of a highly sophisticated syndicate systematically vandalising Nigeria’s critical infrastructure, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps has secured a comprehensive court order to seal all branches of Inner Galaxy Steel Company and Jiuxing Integrity Industrial Ltd nationwide,” the statement read.
