ALBAWABA - Iran’s President, Masoud Pezeshkian, has issued an order to end the internet black-out and reopen international internet access.The black-out, which lasted 90 days, first started during the January protests in Iran, after beginning to relax in February, the black-out returned again after the US-Israeli surprise attack on Iran on the 28th of February and the start of the Iran war. The internet in Iran remained blacked-out until yesterday.In what seems to be a sign of progress in the talks between the warring nations, yesterday, the Iranian president officially ended the black-out, according to a report citing the head of public relations at Iran’s Communications Ministry.However, despite the black-out ending, there are still heavy amounts of censorship in Iran; rendering access to the global internet restricted for most citizens, not counting the few who are able to circumvent the online blockade by using advanced and expensive VPN technology.Whether this is an auspicious sign of the war’s end, or just another day until the talks fail and the war returns remains to be seen.
