The Israeli military said sirens that sounded in northern Israel over a suspected hostile aircraft infiltration were triggered by a false alarm, according to Reuters.

Earlier, in a post on X, Israel’s military said that “alerts have been activated for the infiltration of a hostile aircraft” in the airspace of Sassa, an Israeli settlement in the north of the country.

The clarification comes as tensions continue to rise along the Lebanese border, with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu pledging to intensify military operations against Hezbollah.

Netanyahu has also acknowledged challenges posed by Hezbollah's fibre-optic-guided drones, saying Israel is working to counter the threat.
