The SABC has officially pulled the plug on Bakwena Productions "Pimville".
In a statement released on Monday evening, after weeks of queries from viewers and media, the SABC explained that following a thorough review process and careful consideration, "Pimville" will be discontinued from tonight, due to unresolved contractual obligations and breaches identified and communicated formally to Bakwena Productions.
"This outcome is deeply regrettable, particularly considering the dedication and hard work demonstrated by the cast, crew, as well as the unwavering support received from audiences, partners, and all stakeholders who contributed to the programme’s success," read the statement.
Two weeks ago, alarm bells rang when "Pimville" made headlines due to claims of nonpayment and actors and crew. The SABC released a statement, not long after news broke that they had fulfilled their contractual obligations to Bakwena Productions.
