Fars News Agency reported that Abdolnasser Hemmati, the governor of the Central Bank of the Islamic Republic, has traveled to Qatar “in line with efforts to pursue the unfreezing of Iran’s assets” and as part of the negotiations’ economic commission.

According to the report, Hemmati is expected to hold talks with Qatari officials in Doha regarding financial matters and the blocked assets of the Islamic Republic.

Tasnim News Agency also reported that the visit comes after a recent trip by a Qatari delegation to Iran aimed at discussing Iran’s frozen funds and Doha’s mediating role in the ongoing negotiations between Tehran and Washington.
