Doctors had informed him that all test results were normal, he added.Responding to a question on undergoing medical tests at a private hospital instead of a government hospital, Mr. Sengottaiyan said he had chosen the facility as he usually underwent treatment there and it was also run by his relative. He said he also took rest there and added that there was no need to seek government funds as the treatment was provided free of cost. When asked about the murder of a girl in Sulur, the Minister said the Inspector General of Police had already given a detailed explanation on the case and that the Chief Minister had issued directions for immediate action, he added. On welfare schemes, including the ‘free bus’ scheme for women and other electoral promises by TVK, Mr. Sengottaiyan said that each scheme would be implemented in phases based on the State’s financial position.
