VIDEO: Baringo man blasts leaders for turning funerals into campaign stages
A man from Baringo County has sparked debate online after publicly criticising politicians for turning funerals and weddings into campaign rallies instead of addressing pressing community issues.
In a viral clip seen by TNX Africa, the man accused leaders of exploiting solemn family gatherings to seek votes, saying the practice disrespects mourners and residents.
“Mtu ukikuja kwa matanga hiyo sio sherehe yako. Unafaa ukuje useme pole na uketi chini. Sio mheshimiwa kukuja kwa matanga na kusema nataka kura. Mtu unakuja kwa koito yani pre-wedding kutuambia sijui nini, wewe ni scam, conman, you are just a schemer,” he said.
The resident lamented the state of development in Barwesa, citing poor roads, inadequate healthcare, water shortages, and deteriorating school infrastructure. He noted that despite repeated appeals to leaders, little had changed.
